As I spend more time with myself and being eight thousand miles away from home, I got rid of some old habits and adopted some new perspectives. It's safe to say, for the first time in our generation, we're collectively living in an age of uncertainty. The global slow down and pause in travel has allowed for me to take time to truly reflect. And so this project has served as a log of emotions and feelings during this time, a testimony of my growth, coping and healing.

Growth takes a lot of patience and reflection. The healing process can often be painful too. As RZA once quoted from The Bhagavad Gita, ‘contemplation with yourself will take you further than prayer, and verbalising (that contemplation) out loud makes it even more powerful.’

This 5-track instrumental EP 'LATELY' which can also mean 'one direction' by its Chinese translation (一向，Yī Xiàng), is a collage of ideas written between 2018 to 2020.

Written in a time of, both personal and global, desperation and confrontation, this body of work is not only an effort to consolidate musical energies and travelling ambisonics but also a love letter to family and 'home'.

當我遠離家鄉，有更多的時間和自己相處時，我擺脫了一些舊的習慣，並接受了一些新的觀點。可以肯定地說，我們這一代人首次共同面對和生活在一個充滿不確定性的時代，因爲疫情而導致的全球發展放緩和旅行停滯，讓我真正迎來了自我反思。所以這張 EP 成爲了這段時間情緒和感受的記錄，是我成長、應對和療愈的見證。

成長需要很大耐心和不斷地自省，療愈的過程通常也很痛苦。正如 RZA 曾經從印度的《薄伽梵歌》中引用的句子, "contemplation with yourself will take you further than prayer, and verbalising (that contemplation) out loud makes it even more powerful."（與自己一同沉思比祈禱更能讓你走得更遠，而大聲說出來會讓它更有力量。）...

這張EP收錄了5首單曲，EP 名稱《LATELY》的中文譯名爲「一向，Yī Xiàng」，也有「一個方向」的意思，是我從 2018 年至 2020 年間創作的想法拼貼。

寫于一個無論個人還是全球都充滿著絕望和對抗的時代，這部作品不僅是爲了合拼音樂的能量和旅行氛圍的努力，也是寫給家人和「家」的一封情書。
